Modern Architect was founded in September 2014 by Özgür Sevgili, as a digital space where he could collect thousands of inspirational architectural photography for his own independent architecture company which he runs in İstanbul, Turkey.
As an accomplished architect and an entrepreneur, he was very well aware of the fact that there were few architectural pages on Instagram at the time. So, with an immediate urge, then and there he made up his mind to fill this void and founded Modern Architect.
Curious and passionate about the latest innovations and trends in architecture and design, in a short time Özgür Sevgili brought together thousands of images on Modern Architect and established the page amongst the first accounts that broadcast the best modern architecture and design projects on Instagram.
Not long after, Modern Architect is became globally recognized by design enthusiasts across the world. Consequently in 2017 with almost 1 million followers, a new logo and a global identity, the page finally became the perfect guide to world’s best art and architecture!
In his endless pursuit of perfection in art, architecture and design Özgür Sevgili connected almost 2.5 Million Followers to more than 4000 innovative projects through Modern Architect.
Today, Modern Architect is not only one of the most inspiring Art & Architecture platforms on Instagram, also a reliable digital source of knowledge for the world's truly iconic architects and designers as; Sir Norman Foster, Jean Nouvel, Marcio Kogan, MAD Architects, Fran Silvestre, Snøhetta, Henning Larsen, Pitsou Kedem, Chris Precht.
Believing in the power of continuous change and further growth, in 2019 Modern Architect entered a business partnership with Architect Banu Altay, a renowned female Architect from İstanbul and the Founder of the global brand Sia Moore Architecture Interior Design.
Together with Partner Architect Banu Altay’s entrepreneurial skills, experience and optimistic vision, Modern Architect is now launching a new online magazine to broadcast the latest daily News & Trends about art, architecture, design and innovation.
